MOTORSPORT
MINIs and motorsport almost
go hand in hand. In the early days MINIs were campaigned by some
of the best drivers in the world and won such classics as the Monte
Carlo Rally, and even our own Great Race at Bathurst. The new MINI
has lost none of its predecessor's sporting ability and in fact
enhances it with its amazing road holding, blistering acceleration
and great reliability.
clubMINI has many motorsport enthusiasts and some who
have taken the big step and competed in their new MINIs
in such events as the East
Coast Targa, the Mt
Buller Sprint and Targa
Tasmania.
It is clubMINI's intention to foster and aid those new
MINI owners who wish to enjoy the exhilaration of driving
their MINIs on a real race track, hone their driving
skills and enjoy the rush of adrenaline that competitive
motor sport creates.
However, we must walk before we run, so to assist us in
the early days of clubMINI we have been invited by the
BMW Driver's Club NSW to join them at their various Track
Days at Eastern Creek, Oran Park and Wakefield Raceway.
So if you would like to explore this aspect of your MINI
just follow the links below for each listed date, this
will take you to the BMW Drivers Club NSW site which will
explain how their Track Days are conducted.
Your clubMINI guru on MINIs in motorsport is Andrew Robinson, affectionately
known as Robbo and he would be only too pleased to answer any motorsport questions
you may have. Andrew and his MINI are a regular at the BMW Drivers Club Track
Days so he knows all the ins and outs, drop him an email if
you need more info.
